Wine for breakfast!
(08/30/14)
One plus to starting so early (in addition to less hours spent in the sun) is the beautiful lighting. Mornings here are incredible.
Spent most of yesterday walking with our new German friends. (Dad and daughter). They are SO much fun! We've had a lot of laughs.
My new friend Lia and I. Her dad bought us matching braclets from a little girl on the trail (they fell apart after 3 hours, but were cute while they lasted. Apparently all the kids make these sort of rubber band bracelets these days? :)
Stopped at some great villages throughout the day and ended the day in Estella.
The beautiful cliff town of Ciraqui.
Today we were again up early. First stop of the day...free wine fountain. It was 7:30am and we hadn't had coffee, but oh well!! The saying on the wine fountain read "Pilgrim, if you wish to arrive at Santiago full of strength and vitality, have a drink of this great wine and make a toast to happiness."
We went on to hike 18 miles so the wine must have done us well! (I should remember this for the future!) We stayed at a beautiful alburgue in a small and quaint village, Sansol. Beautiful gardens, peaceful music, rustic architecture, foot soak (which felt ahhmazing), and a great meal!! Met some new, fun friends (Brazillian, Austrialian, Danish and even two awesome Americans!)
Ultreia!

This looks like such an incredible journey. Wine for breakfast it is!!
